7 Classic Movies You Didn't Know Were Rip-Offs

Cracked: Hey, Hollywood, we get that it's hard to come up with new ideas. Especially when you've gotten really good at improving on the original. But it's one thing to purposefully remake a dud into a classic -- it's another to pretend you're the one who came up with the idea in the first place. How would you like it if we said we invented anorexia and scientifically impossible explosions, huh Hollywood?

The story is too old to be commented.

I personally don't agree with any of this aricle but to each his own I suppose. I read thru it and it would take a lot of close scrutiny to get to that decision and I don't see it myself.

The one about star wars and star trek seems more a joke than anything. The author just picked generic character types and went OMG. Those generic character types appear near if not all films. If you really look you can claim every film copies each other by the method the author uses to make the claims he does

Yes, exactly what I was saying when I was reading...totally random all the way.

The Star Wars/Star Trek one was dumb, but the Terminator and Matrix similarities kind of opened up some doors. Didn't know anything about that.

Same with Reservoir Dogs.

I will only say that Pirates 2 and 3 kinda had a One piece vibe . Especially the parts about some Order of High rated pirate captains , and it's sheer crazyness .

Nothing i'd call a rip off , but again a vibe .

dont care, still watched em all

lol Exactly. And I'll end up watching them all again at some point and enjoying them just the same.

Though indeed some of this stuff seems like a definite stretch based on just general character types.
