Entertainment Focus - Review: Drive

Driver (Ryan Gosling - Crazy Stupid Love) is a part-time stuntman and mechanic by day and a getaway driver by night. He leads a solitary life with his only real friend being his employer Shannon (Bryan Cranston – Breaking Bad). Driver starts to strike up a relationship with his next door neighbour Irene (Carey Mulligan – Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) – a woman left to raise her young son alone whilst her husband is in prison. Before long Driver and Irene start to develop feelings for one another until Irene’s husband is released from prison. Soon it becomes clear that he has gotten himself into a lot of trouble and it threatens to affect the lives of Irene and their son. So Driver takes the necessary steps to help out but ends up starting a mob war that will have devastating consequences for everyone involved.
