French studio Guamont has announced the creation of Gaumont International Television (GIT), marking its foray into worldwide television production and distribution. Based in Los Angeles, GIT will be led by Katie O'Connell as CEO and Richard Frankie as COO.
A number of projects are already in development, including "Hannibal," a one-hour drama written by Bryan Fuller, and "Madame Tussaud," a six-hour mini-series from Michael Hirst.

Dear God why? The last couple movies just didn't pull it together. He's a great character, but they're running the risk of ruining a classic villain with overload. Let the character be, and forever be etched in our GOOD memories.
Anthony Hopkins put his mark on that character. It's just not the same without him. No other actor playing Lecter could blow an audience away, at least not at this point in time with the past movies and Hopkin's version of the character still etched in people's minds. And I doubt Hopkins will be doing television anytime soon.
Yeah! He's not going to be Hannibal on the TV series. That would be great if he was but this is a totally different thing they're talking about. I don't know that it would work at all. The movies have done it all already...the before and the middle and the after so I don't understand why they would but you know why they want to try? $$$$$$ That's what it all comes down to. If they think they can make a buck they're going to try.
