Life in a Day director Kevin Macdonald has made a successful career switching between documentaries and feature films, but it is the former where he has found the most success winning an Oscar for One Day in September.
Macdonald talks to Matt’s Movie Reviews about his favourite documentaries.
Nerdacy: Kevin MacDonald is famously known for directing The Last King of Scotland, which won Forest Whitaker an Academy Award for Best Actor, and now he’s taking his first step into action-thriller with his latest film, Black Sea. Starring Jude Law, Black Sea is about a submarine captain who takes a job with a shadowy backer to search the depths of the Black Sea for a submarine rumored to be loaded with gold.
I spoke with MacDonald about the film last month and here’s what he had to say about the film and possibly directing a sci-fi movie in the future.

As though it’s like the most shocking, awful thing in the world, my god!? Have you never been a teenager yourself?!”
