CG Movies - Captain America: The First Avenger Review

Many of the advanced reviews of Captain America: The First Avenger have criticized the film for being bland. I understand where those people are coming from, but feel they are missing the point. Most of the current roster of Marvel superheroes being groomed for The Avengers have been cynical characters slotted into movies with a self-conscious sense of humor (even Thor gently mocked the character’s mythological backstory as much as it paid reverence to it).

I really don't care what critic say. I personally don't think they know what they're talking about half the time anyway.

Movies = entertainment...where did they loose the meaning of that? I go see what I want when I want for my entertainment. Simple equation. Most of the population feels the same way...they just want to get away from the trouble of the work, the bills, the fights with the kids or other struggles in just everyday life....

Just let us have a little fun and don't over analyze.

I know. Every movie that's supposed to be fun gets knocked for some reason. Why? Cuz it's not artistic? Art is overrated. At least there are still a few people in this world that know what the purpose of movies are and how they are supposed to be watched.

Couldn't agree more!

The one thing that annoys the hell out of me is when sites targeting this audience still knock on movies like this. Like IGN gave it a bad review, yet who is your audience? People that friggin love movies like this.

I understand if the movie is all around terrible like Battle LA, but this wasn't and it was perfect for THEIR audience.

Then you have people like the Boston Globe that will just outright hate anything that isn't "art." I understand artsy fartsy movies, but their is a reason they don't make as much money. period.

I agree, When they review, they're in their own little world....they aren't thinking of the people that go out and actually spend their hard earned money to see these movies....us...the general public. Yes there is a difference when it's classic art but still movies like we've had this summer that have made actually billions.....the critics hate the most.
