Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) has just been made redundant. With escalating debts and a crippling mortgage, Larry makes the decision to go to college to get a diploma – something he feels will proof him from any company downsizing in the future. Once there Larry befriends Talia (Gugu Mbatha-Raw – Dr Who) and her gang of scooter enthusiasts. He also catches the attention of his new tutor Mercedes Tainot (Julia Roberts – Pretty Woman), a teacher who has lost her ambition and is stuck in a dead-end marriage.
