Pixar have been making the most consistently enjoyable animated films for the past 16 years, with their only exception being the original Cars. That film wasn’t a horrid abomination, but compared to the rest of the company’s oeuvre it just didn’t stack up. It’s characters were shallow, the story was hackneyed and it was borderline boring to watch, receiving the highest number of bad reviews for a Pixar movie up until that point in time.
