Via Deadline comes the news that Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures has acquired the remake rights to the Norwegian horror movie, which uses a worked shoot, "found footage" approach to tell the story of a bunch of students who go, well...troll hunting. It's basically a Scandinavian Blair Witch Project, which has always sounded like money in the bank to us, if it weren't for the fact that everyone was speaking Norwegian of all things.

Original Gremlins screenwriter Chris Columbus has finished the script for Gremlins 3 and promises that it is very much in line with the first movie.

When it comes to videogame Bosses, Donkey Kong is an OG. So having a movie that pays homage to arcade classics without him would have been a major oversight. Pixels director Chris Columbus knew that, and lobbied hard to get the big guy in his movie.

Chris Columbus stopped by Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) this morning to talk about his new film Pixels, but he also was open to chatting about his time at Hogwarts. He told Jessica Shaw and me about how he originally wanted to direct the entire series of films, but stepped aside because he was worried it would take him away from his family for too long.
Frankly, I liked the Harry Potter movies directed by Chris Columbus the most. I would have loved to see him directing Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
