The slaughtering of innocents weighs heavily on the mind of 14th century Crusader Behman (Nicolas Cage – Knowing) who decides to take leave from his army. This is not what he believes a servant of God would do so with his long time friend Felson (Ron Perlman – Hellboy) by his side, he starts the long journey back home. As they near their destination it becomes clear that the plague has decimated their land and the church believes witchcraft is to blame. Having captured a young woman they believe to be a witch, the church ask Behman to escort her to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending her reign of terror. So Behman reluctantly agrees to take on this final mission but doubts the girl is as evil as the townsfolk make out.
