Peter Jackson announced today on Facebook that Evangeline Lilly ("LOST") and Barry Humphries (Dame Edna) have joined the cast of "The Hobbit" films! Here is his post:

I think this is great...She had said that after LOST she might just go back to school and stop acting. She really didn't like acting that much and was discovered while she was attending college. I think she's adorable and will make a good addition to the film.
I guess she'll be taking the kind of Liv Tyler 'role' in this film, of the hot female Elf that only the ultimate good guy can get.
That is the way of the movie world....only the hot good guys get the hot good looking girls.
