This guy is just crazy....funny but a little over the top crazy. If you've never watched him...you should, but not if you get offended easily.

JL4699d ago

Over the top at times? Yes. Still definitely funny, though. And I tend the gravitate more towards the comedians that aren't afraid to be offensive. In fact, I tend to find that offensive stuff to be the funnier material at times.

I don't buy into the whole "distasteful" stuff or any of that. I think it was Gervais that once said there should be nothing that a comedian can't make a joke about cause it's just jokes. And I whole-heartedly agree with that.

Yeah, Tosh.0 is a guilty pleasure of mine.

I saw a vid for his new season in which he shoots a baby. Now, Tosh can be funny, but don't you think it's a bit over the top? I didn't find it funny at all, I just thought it was dumb and a desperate attempt for laughs. Same with when Southpark did the jersey shore episode, terrorists crashing planes into people?? How is that funny? I found it offensive, and I don't even have a family member or loved one that died on 9/11.

Christopher4698d ago

Yeah, that was a promo for his show (not actually in the show).

The thing with that is he was actually making fun of South Park and how they get away with a ton of things that he can't even begin to do on his program, such as the Southpark items you mentioned above.

Nes_Daze4698d ago

Oh I see, don't know why I didn't catch that since it was kinda obvious, lol. In that case Tosh did a good job in mocking them, but nonetheless still uncalled for.

alycakes4699d ago

Well that true...I don't watch all of his stuff...he can be crude. I feel the same way about Southpark. I usually watch and if it's bad just change the channel...that's about all one can do these days.

I don't follow the show but I like it when I catch it from time to time. Good news.

His newer stuff isn't as funny anymore. Its more disturbing at times and the videos are the making me laugh a bit more.

He kinda hit the "im famous" stride right now, so he forgot his formula that got him there.

Im not saying he isn't funny at all anymore, just saying his older shows were more funny.

JL4699d ago

I can agree he's been losing his "edge" as he goes along (though I think that's with all comedians really), but definitely still funny.

And while the videos themselves make me laugh, they just become that much funnier due to his commentary on them.

I will admit, though, that some of it is just disturbing. Not in the funny way, though. Like recently, that naked old guy giving Tosh that "massage". That was just weird.

Christopher4698d ago

Kind of what _JL_ said, though. Comedians tend to get old pretty fast when they have shows like this. Heck, most don't grow past a single episode of their stand up.

The sad thing is that Tosh in his current stage of getting somewhat old is still better than most comedian-focused shows getting made.
