TGE:
First Class represents a return to the pulpy, campy origins of comic books themselves, seeking – in both style and narrative – to capture its lighthearted, fun-loving roots. While First Class often relies upon easy clichés and borderline silly costuming (one reviewer made the shockingly accurate comparison to Austin Powers,) the film might not be so disappointing if it weren’t for its predecessors. In a franchise that – at its best – created characters with emotional depth and nuance, it’s hard to overlook the fact that First Class had at its very fingertips the possibility of fully mining and exploring its characters’ origins; of cutting right to the very beginning of these mythic heroes and their psychological complexities.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
