From the start of the movie you are under no illusion that this is not going to be a straightforward experience. Immediately you are stuck by some exquisite cinematography by Alwin H. Kuchler (SUNSHINE) who uses natural landscapes and some magnificent locations to appease our eyes."
LRA writes: Our efforts to avert disaster by avoiding this past weeks horrible offerings were only partially successful when our back up films turned out to be no better with only a couple exceptions. Other than Brian, who played a bit of catch up this week by explaining why both Hanna and Rango were two of last years best films, James and I found ourselves on the complete opposite side of the spectrum with our film choices which include the new fantasy/adventure Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and the comedy(?) Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. We also find some time to cover some recent television shows we have been watching as well as our thoughts on the 84th Academy Awards show.
