The most recent episode of Community was a sort of inside joke played on the genre conventions of sitcom television. After a certain number of seasons, sitcoms need to have an episode that recaps all the funniest jokes and premises of the entire series by creating an arbitrary reason for the characters to spend time reminiscing. Community has set a sitcom record by making this episode show up in the second season as this sort of episode usually ends up during around season six. For a number of reasons though, this doesn’t really count as a recap episode.
