THR:
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides doesn't hit U.S. theaters until May 20. But screenwriter Terry Rossio has just turned in his script for a planned fifth installment in Disney's most lucrative film franchise.
Rossio tells THR that the still-untitled script -- his first penned without Ted Elliot, who collaborated on the first four Pirates scripts -- was delivered to Disney this past weekend. It's the initial step in putting together the key creative pieces for another Pirates film. Disney would like another installment, given the $3 billion in worldwide grosses for the first three films and the likely huge returns for the fourth movie, the first to be released in 3D.
TNS: "The third entry in the Terrifier franchise delivers the exact blend of bleak horror and grim humor fans have come to expect."
The Prince of Wales gave an ultimatum, but this won't be his legacy.
TNS: "The Joker's second outing can't be saved by musical charm, with Joker: Folie à Deux resulting in a boring bow to mediocrity."
Milk that cow, Disney. I'm with Depp on this one. Slow your role.
I would too if I was him. He is smart and knows a character can only take so much before people get tired of it. Not only that if he straight up agreed to this then Pirate 6 would be on his desk a month later. Think about a deep story and let it develop for a while, dont be milking the hell out of it....
Slow it up and improve the script
That's exactly what he wants. He loves the character though. He said that Captain Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissor Hands, and Ed Wood were at the top of his favorite parts he's ever played.
Yeah, I say wait for it, give it a year more, make it really special coz I think am gonna really enjoy the 4th one.
