'Dexter' Creator To Direct Michael C. Hall And Vera Farmiga In 'Love, Scotch And Death'

Deadline: Dexter creator James Manos Jr and Michael C. Hall will collaborate on the big screen after Hall wraps the sixth season as the strangely likable serial killer title character hatched in the Jeff Lindsay novel series. They will team on the independent feature Love, Scotch and Death, with Hall playing a character based on Manos, during a most stressful week filled with unimaginable mishaps. Vera Farmiga will star with Hall. Manos will make his feature directing debut, with shooting to begin in November.

Am I the only person who doesn't care for Dexter? I watched the first 3 seasons and that was about 2 seasons more than enough for me. It just seems like... serial killer lite. I have very similar feelings towards Weeds, also.

I haven't even watched all of the first season of Dexter, but I liked it so far. Though, it does feel like it could get old kinda fast.

Weeds I really liked (haven't watched the last season or two of it though). It was a real good show, though it started to drop off in like the fourth season.

Weeds is too cutesy poo "lolol suburban mom dealer" for me. I didn't go into it expecting The Wire or something, but still.

There's nothing really "cutesy poo" about it though once you get into it. Later in the series her son Shane actually gets pretty sadistic. Murders take place throughout the series too.

Sure it's kind of bubbly because it's a comedy but I don't see how they could have done it differently but still kept the humor. I think it's just about as good as it could be.

@JL - If you care about the characters then the show should never get boring for you.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of Weeds, I know about the "dark" stuff. The characters are usually more likeable than Dexter's, though. I'll give it that. I can't stand half the cast on that show.

Dexter is like in my top 3 favorite shows on right now. I watched every single episode in under a month when I discovered it. Waiting impatiently for it to return too. I've never felt like it was a 'lite' version of anything. The 2nd season is probably the worst if I remember right so once you get past that it's all good.

Weeds is also another one of my favorites and when I started watching that I couldn't put it down until I finished every episode also in the span of a couple weeks. It's hilarious, the characters are all entertaining and for the most part likeable. There are talks that the upcoming season will be its last but I'd like it to go on a little longer.

I have the first 4 seasons of Dexter and can't wait for the next one. OMG....it is one of the best series...you know he's so bad but you can't hate him because he has rules and even some morals. It's just so crazy and every season you worry about what's going to happen if he gets caught.
