Movie Cafe Review Mix: Rio, Detective K, The Yellow Sea

Movie Cafe:
Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforest of Brazil, the comedy-adventure centers on Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there's another - and that the other kind is a she - Blu then leaves the comforts of his cage in a small town in Minnesota and heads towards Rio. But it's far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel (Anne Hathaway). Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life's many wonders.

A goofy Sherlock Holmes type movie sounds like lots of fun. I might have to check that one out.

I caught it a few weeks ago. It isn't bad and the wife and I enjoyed it. Though some might not like the religious overtones involved (they're not bad, but some people are sensitive).

Well I am atheist so that's not my type of thing. Though, I'm not sensitive like that. So long as it's not preachy, bible-thumping, force it down your throat type stuff, it never bothers me.

Christopher4760d ago

No, nothing about forcing it down your throat, they just decided to include some somewhat historical reference to South Korea's non-proselytization of Christians over Confucianism.

That's cool. It's definitely one I want to check out. Just have to look into where I can see it.
