ComingSoon.net has confirmed that Dan Scanlon will direct Disney•Pixar's Monsters, Inc. prequel Monsters University. Kori Rae is producing the film.
Scanlon has worked as a story artist on Cars and Toy Story 3 and directed the Cars-related short, "Mater and the Ghostlight." Rae was a producer on "Mater's Tall Tales" and Up.

The fact he was apart of Up seems promising. I just hope this one isnt too childish, as his Mater short was a bit that way. However that's how Cars is.
I think its mostly him stepping up to a promotion, so that's always good! Can't wait for this movie.
Still not entirely sold on the prequel idea, but I have total faith in Pixar still.
