Shakefire: Sucker Punch Review

Shakefire writes, "Director Zack Snyder has produced some visually stunning films in the past. Both 300 and Watchmen showcase Snyder’s stylistic narratives and his trademark slow motion action sequences. Sucker Punch is the latest film from the acclaimed director and features five female inmates at a mental institution who plan to escape before it’s too late and they are lobotomized.

Led by Babydoll (Emily Browning), the girls devise a plan to gather four items they need in order to escape; a map, fire, a knife, and a key. Collecting these items will be no easy task as they are heavily guarded by those who run this prison and getting caught would most certainly lead to their demise. It’s a matter of life and death for these girls who will go to great lengths to get what they desire most; freedom."

Glad to see a more positive review. Looks like a lot of people are simply divided on the film. Meaning we'll have to watch it for ourselves.

Doesn't all Of Snyder's Films divide?Except the Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole everyone hated that movie.

I think his Dawn of the Dead remake was pretty well recieved overall but stuff like Watchmen definitely divided.

Very true. My best friend and I both loved the Watchmen comic and went to the movie together. I loved it and he didn't, even though we were both huge fans of the source material.

Yea Dawn of the Dead was pretty well praised by most I think. I actually just watched Legend of the Guardians the other day for the first time. I don't see why people hated it so much. Actually, I kind do. But I don't think it had anything to do with the movie being bad. I thought it was alright, a decent movie. I think people were just disappointed cause it's not what you expect from Snyder. It really is a children's movie.
