Comingsoon:
Last week, word began circulating that actress Jennifer Lawrence from Winter's Bone was the "clear frontrunner" for the lead role of Katniss Everdeen in Gary Ross' adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling young adult novel The Hunger Games, set for release by Lionsgate on March 23, 2012. Now, it's been confirmed that the 20-year-old Academy Award-nominated actress has indeed signed on for the lead role, and we can expect more casting news to follow shortly.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Everyones crying she's too old. 20 isn't old at all.
I haven't read the books but the hype surrounding this film is ridiculous. Must have been a good read.
Yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to have to break down and read these books. As many people as there are out there getting pissed off about the casting choice, it must be worth reading on some level.
Personally, I've always been of the opinion, that if an actor/ress is the best for that role, then give it to that person. Don't hem yourself in by sticking too hard to a standard, otherwise you might end up with the right 'look' but a terrible performance. Sometimes these liberties must be taken.
I just want to see Lawrence in another lead role to see how she fares after Winter's Bone and see how she develops after that.
