The Lincoln Lawyer Review at Skewed and Reviewed

Skewed and Reviewed:
While the entire cast was incredible, Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Phillippe gave equally amazing performances (this is especially true for any scene that they were both in). The characters were well-developed, believable and for the most part likable, heck I even liked the biker Eddie (Trace Adkins). The storyline was intriguing with a twist or two that I did not see coming and it also had some very nice humor sprinkled in. I did find that in a few scenes the dialogue seemed to be a bit unnatural for what was going on but it didn’t really detract from the overall scenes in question. Personally I hope this film does well enough that they make a sequel (I believe the book’s sequel is The Reversal) because I would like to see more of these characters in action.

Nice score and review. I'm looking forward to this one, if for no other reason than to see the return of McConaughey as a legit actor.

Thank you. He needed it badly as he was becoming a parody by playing himself in one bad film after another.

I'm still not interested. It's a great review, but I'm just about done with courtroom thrillers. I guess a big part of the reason is that my job has changed and I'm now a bailiff for the courts (finally off the streets and midnight shifts!) so I see courtroom stuff all the time!

You know I got this movie when it came out but what I usually do when I buy a movie I haven't seen is loan it to a friend of mine first. They are both retired and she's not able to get out much so they borrow all my movies. They get to see them before I do but I know I have all the time I need once I get them back. I see this one as soon as I get it which should be anytime now.

Project-Blu Blu-Ray Review For 'The Lincoln Lawyer'

“The Lincoln Lawyer” is the first film, as well as the first novel of the “Mickey Haller” sagas from Michael Connelley. I do hope that Lionsgate and all of those involved (McConaughey I am looking at you) return to the big screen. There are currently four Mickey Haller books that have been published with a fifth book due out in late November of 2011. There you go. It’s got potential to be a great franchise, and with the first film being pretty good, the sky is the limit.
