From TMP:
The reoccurring theme at SXSW was that if you liked ‘Insidious’ you didn’t care for ‘Innkeepers’ and if you liked “Innkeepers” you really, really didn’t care for “Insidious”. Director Ti West is well known here at SXSW and his movies ‘The Roost’ and ‘The House of the Devil” seemed to be well liked, based on the audience at the screening, but all I can really say about that is that people’s taste in horror films, above almost any other genre, is always ridiculously varied and vigorously defended.
ScreenDemon.com: "The horror genre has become a little stale, it has to be said. Countless tales of possessions and haunted homes have flooded the cinema and while some were good, the majority felt dumb and boring. Can Ti West’s latest offering, The Innkeepers, buck the trend?..."
Trendy Gamers: You know that expression less is more? Well director, writer and editor Ti West won’t make a film without adhering to this adage.
Welcome to the Yankee Pedlar Inn, current residency: five. Living, that is. Tasked with minding the 100-year-old establishment the weekend prior to it shutting its doors for good, employees Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) find that besides the lone, mysterious woman (Kelly McGillis) and mother/son duo that populate the creaky old domicile, something more sinister lurks.
