Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) Lincoln think they’ve hit the big time when US TV executive Merc (John Pankow) convinces them to move to LA to remake their hit TV show Lyman’s Boys. Upon arrival the married writers realise that Merc has never actually seen their show and soon they find their lead actor Richard Griffiths sacked and replaced with former Friends actor Matt LeBlanc. Not happy with Merc’s decision the couple are dealt another blow when the show is renamed Pucks and everything about the original concept is changed. As Sean’s friendship with Matt blossoms Beverly feels left out in the cold and the couple start to question everything they thought they knew about each other.
