When you come out of nowhere and turn in an Oscar nominated breakout performance like Hailee Steinfeld did as Mattie Ross in the Joel and Ethan Coen-directed True Grit, it's natural for the studio involved to do its best to keep you in the fold. Paramount Pictures has just closed a deal for screen rights to Forgotten, a novel by Cat Patrick that will be published by Little Brown in June. The book will be crafted as a star vehicle for the 14-year old Steinfeld, with Fake Empire's Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage producing. It's the first studio deal for Steinfeld since she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
She might be the next big thing. True Grit was awesome and you wouldn't have guessed it was her first big role. Such a pro.
I wonder who will have the more successful career though... Hailee Steinfeld or Chloe Moretz.
I am really happy that she is getting work so soon, she deserves it. I just hope she has a smart agent that isn't attaching her to projects just to keep her name out there.
To Murderdolls: I hope they both have a good career. I absolutely adored Chloe Moretz in both Kickass and Let Me In. But Hailee Steinfeld's breakout performance in True Grit was amazing.
I'll be curious to see her in another role. See how well she does. She did a very nice job in True Grit. So I'm curious to see how she can do beyond that, and see how well she can branch out too.
