While he didn’t land the gig directing the James Cameron produced 3D remake of “Fantastic Voyage”—the job has gone to Shawn Levy—Louis Leterrier hasn’t wasted any time in finding another project, and it’s a pretty intriguing high concept heist movie.
Leterrier has confirmed with The Playlist that he will direct “Now You See Me” for Summit Entertainment. Written by Boaz Yakin (”Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time,” “Fresh”) and Edward Ricourt, the film follows a crack FBI squad in a game of cat-and-mouse against a super-team of the world’s greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of daring bank heists during their performances and showers the profits on to their audiences.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Sounds pretty interesting. Bank robber illusionists? That's all I need to hear. I'm in.
This does indeed sound like a very interesting premise for a heist film. Could be one of the more creative ones we've seen in a while if done right. I mean look at Inception: at it's core it's nothing but a heist film. But it was done SERIOUSLY right thus we get the pleasure of having one of the most creative and enjoyable movies in a long while.
I'll definitely be watching out to see how they go with this one.
Bank Robber Illusionists is giving me an Inception vibe. Here's hoping it's good.
