SCREAM 4 Teaser Poster at Skewed and Reviewed

Skewed and Reviewed have posted the new teaser poster for the pending SCREAM 4.

I like the knife tip on the mask, thats pretty sweet. I was kinda hoping they would try something differnt in their marketing approach, but then again why fix something that isn't broken?

Sunny_D4814d ago

I remember when the first scream had come out and everyone wanted to have the mask for Halloween that year. I remember I had the bloody one. It was so cool.

Pillage054813d ago

...I still have that mask...

Soldierone4813d ago

I had a glow in the dark one and the standard white one haha. My friend had the bloody one you pump blood into, and the bloody knife. :D

Sunny_D4812d ago

Yeah, that is exactly the same one I have. Now, if I could just fit into them...

Garethvk4814d ago

Big issue is that rumors suggest it may be a mess. There are reports of massive reshoots, Craven bristled at that and called them additions such as extended scenes or adding gore. Bottom line, while reshoots are common on films, adding and extending scenes after test screeners can be a bad sign as usually this is done while editing the final cut when continuity issues or flow improvements are discovered.

Soldierone4814d ago

Wow I have yet to read that, not a good sign at all. Could mean the test screens came back with negative reviews, and now he needs to fix it up some.

darklordzor4814d ago

Yeah they did that a while back, but I hadn't heard that it was connected to the screen testings they had done. It's possible, but you never know.

Sunny_D4814d ago

I said it before. Scream 4 is just going to be another terrible attempt to chase the success of the 1st movies. But, it will fail.

darklordzor4814d ago

I don't know that this is actually a teaser poster. I mean we already got a teaser poster several weeks ago. Wouldn't this just be 'the' poster? Who knows. Either way I'm digging the look. Kind of corny but also very cool. I still have high hopes for this movie despite the early looks saying it's crap.

-MD-4814d ago

Yeah I wouldn't call that a teaser. Looks like the actual poster for the film.

Sunny_D4814d ago

A teaser poster would be the one for Spider man that came out with griffin all cut up and looking down.

-MD-4814d ago

I wonder if this'll just be another slasher or if they have plans to make it serve a purpose.

Soldierone4814d ago

Its Scream, it basically re-invented Slasher and gave Slasher a namebrand. I doubt it will be anything more lol.

I think this film is gearing towards modernizing slashers though, so you could be on to something there. Like high tech killing or whatever could become a new trend, instead of straight on killing people with knives.

-MD-4814d ago

I'm sure one of the reasons its being made is to see if the genre can still draw an audience.

Count on there being a Scream 5 if this performs well.

Soldierone4814d ago

Well we had Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday the 13th release, it was only a matter of time before Scream made a come back.

I just dont understand why they dont save these movies for Halloween time like they used to.

Sunny_D4814d ago

Ugh, I hate remakes. I didn't like the new Halloween movies. I thought why try change something that isn't broken.

Soldierone4814d ago

Well if you stick with the same thing then you end up boring people to death like Activision does with video games.

If you are going to "remake" something you are putting your own twist on it, otherwise why remake it. lol I didnt like Nightmare on Elm street at all, it was absolutely terrible and ruined the name completely. I honestly have never walked out of a movie so angry, was on the verge of asking for my money back.

This was sent by the pr firm for the film and they called it Teaser 2.

darklordzor4814d ago

Hmm...I'm not saying it's not a teaser, just seems odd to have a second teaser poster. Why can't they just be posters at this point. I got the PR email too, but I must have glanced over the teaser part of it. Oh well, guess I've never seen the point of a teaser poster (it's just a damn poster), but that's what the marketing people are up to!

martynmj4813d ago (Edited 4813d ago )

Teaser or not, I think the it looks awesome! I'm surprised they haven't used and image of a mask into a knife for any previous movies it just fits so well!
