As this awards season's poster child for "Oscar bait," The King's Speech spins the tale of King George VI and his very serious stammering, whilst giving the backstory of his ascent to the throne in place of his older brother on the brink of World War II.

Three weeks before the big event that is the 83rd Academy Awards, and it's a safe bet The King's Speech will make a sweep, except in supporting acting and maybe a technical award or two. While I would rather two or three other nominees in the category take home Best Picture, it's not a slight to The King's Speech, but rather the domination of my taste for psychological thrillers.
