New Batman Film Scouting Grand Ledge

WILX says:

Grand Ledge is no Gotham City. That may not stop the latest Batman sequel from coming to the community.

According to Eaton County and Grand Ledge officials who didn't want to be identified due to confidentiality agreements, production crews from "The Dark Knight Rises" scouted locations in Grand Ledge's Fitzgerald Park last week.

They looked at the Ledges as well as a water treatment plant located inside the park. Sources say the area is being considered as a hideout for Batman sidekick Robin.

I doubt it, I think it's a rumor thrown out there by someone just to throw off people. TDKR doesn't need Robin, however I'm confident, if they have a good story they can get Robin in. I doubt it, because Christopher Nolan showed distaste for introducing Robin, and Christian Bale went as far to say he'd rather be chained to post if they decided Robin was in it. Sounds like Warner Bros. is taking over if true though, because I know he didn't want Catwoman, and said something about getting different villains who weren't on film before.

Agreed. I don't buy this. At least not the Robin part. As you stated both Nolan and Bale (especially Bale) have expressed their thoughts on that character.

I'm still not convinced on Catwoman making an appearance either.

And I seriously doubt Warner Bros would do that. Nolan was under no obligation whatsoever to come back for a third movie. If Warner Bros started forcing ideas and such and trying to take the "you'll do it or else" approach, then I'm not sure Nolan wouldn't just walk. Doubt WB would want to risk that either. I think at this point Nolan has done well enough by them that they would never force him to do something he doesn't want to do.

True. I trust him, just I think these are red herrings right now.

JL4825d ago

Exactly. That or just people making stuff up. For instance, that whole rumor going around for a while that they were looking to shoot in New Orleans and had been scouting there. That went on for a while. And Pfister has said that just flat-out wasn't true.

... although it should done right, and not the way it's been done in the TV-series or movies (which is the Robin most people think off, and why most people think the character is a douche....)

Get a REAL kid-actor for the job, maybe 13 years old or something, instead of a guy in his 20's playing a teenager. Someone who can handle both the acting (orphan, 'adopted' by millionaire, who also happens to be Batman, and trained to be his partner) as well as the action (very limber, jumpy, fast)

I don't want to see some muscular guy playing the role of Robin. It HAS to be an actual kid; small, vulnerable, IN TRAINING, learning, etc etc.

They will probably have to go with Dick Grayson, timeline-wise and to keep it authentic, but they should incorporate Tim Drake's personality traits (Tim is IMHO the best Robin).

Chances are this is just BS news but on the outside chance it's not, it could be pretty interesting to see how Nolan approaches the character.

If they were to add Robin to the Batman movies, I don't think I would take it seriously as the first 2.
