From Bloody-Disgusting:
While fans of the first Cloverfield are understandably drooling for the day Cloverfield 2 finally makes its way to the big screen, in an interview with B-D reporter Chris Eggertsen earlier today director Matt Reeves (talking about the Feb. 1st DVD/Blu-ray release of Let Me In) claimed that producer J.J. Abrams, screenwriter Drew Goddard, and himself just haven't had a chance to meet yet to hash out a story - and that if they don't figure out something they're all happy with once they do get together, the project could in fact never happen. In other words: the sequel isn't dead, but it's not exactly on the fast-track either.
Testament The Story of Moses Review: The series depicts Moses' journey from an outcast and murderer to a prophet and liberator of the Hebrews. It interweaves docudrama and interviews, to present a more humanly image of the prophet.
Rest In Peace Review: A man in debt disappears. Years later, he considers reconnecting with his family, but his previous life takes him by surprise.
Nerd Reactor writes that a new international post has revealed the return of a fan-favorite Toho monster.
I think I speak for everyone when I say:
"NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO "
My thoughts exactly. I desperately want this movie. Honestly I just need more monster movies. There aren't enough. More than anything I want some questions answered about Cloverfield, which could only come from another movie. Who knows, the director isn't saying it's impossible, just not likely to happen for a while. Damn!
"if they don't figure out something they're all happy with once they do get together"
good :)
"the project could in fact never happen"
bad :(
Pretty much sums it up for me.
I don't know how I feel about this yet.
I love Cloverfield, its one of my favorite movies of all time. Its creative and it truly inspired me ot make my own films. Its a fantastic movie.
In once instance, yes I do want more. and the new JJ Abrams is supposed to be more. Its not Cloverfield, but its a monsterish movie and its set up the same way. I like the idea of it and cant wait to see it.
In a second instance, why ruin it with a second? It has a lot to live up to and you cant really use the handycam style again to sell it. If it fails, Cloverfield will become a Godzilla like name that no one really cares about and looks at as cheesy crap.
