Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending January 16, 2011

The weekly sales reports are in again courtesy of Rentrak for the week ending January 16, 2011. Last week’s biggest selling movie comes as no surpise as Oscar front-runner The Social Network takes the #1 spot. Though, in a somewhat surprising appearance (at least I think so), the animated movie Alpha and Omega debuts in the #2 spot. This drops last week’s front-runners Machete and Dinner for Schmucks to the #3 and #4 spots respectively. Despicable Me rounds out the top five as Eclipse still holds strong in its 7th week at number six.
