Drunk on Judgement: When my local independent theatre announced that it would be showing Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale for three days only, I immediately bought a ticket. The trailers I’d seen reminded me of Let the Right One In, and films from the Swedish/Finnish region such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo usually showcase some amazing acting. Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is sold as a horror-action-comedy, but the film doesn’t pull too hard in any particular direction.
Every once in a while, a filmmaker will get the idea to explore the seedier side of the holiday season.
