IGN:
"There's a reason we've never gone back to the moon."
That tagline pretty much says it all, eh? Well, the tagline and the creepy image that accompanies it on the teaser poster for Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov's upcoming sci-fi thriller Apollo 18. IGN has nabbed a first look at the poster, which means so have you.
Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 7, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But two years later, in December of 1974, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.
MediaStinger: "These movies didn’t necessarily have trailers that blew you away, but at the very least they all had potential to be much better than the actual final product."
Cowboys and Aliens was not a big disappointment to me or anyone else that I know that saw it. We all loved it and for the same reasons. The characters, the actors that played them, the fresh storyline that's not been done...it wasn't a reboot or sequel or prequel..just a new story and different.
I guess we have to agree to disagree on that one.
Dr Chris "The “lost footage/mockumentary” genre seems to hit a stalemate in terms of good quality films. What started promisingly enough with The Blair Witch Project back in 1999 has become a new kind of horror movie all its own; just not in a good way. The lost document or documentary films have been hit or miss. This past summer's Troll Hunter is really good example of a “documentary” film, but the secret-mission-to-the-moon-to- find-aliens is long, hum-drum and boring."
The idea sounds good. Movies that have aliens in them are always intriguing. The "found-footage style" might not be best for this though. I think the setting of the moon would diminished by that.
Good Point.
Hmmm, I think they try to go for a more believable setting with the found footage approach. I think it's quite popular now a days, but I just hope it's not too shaky and not very dizzying like Cloverfield.
The poster is So...So.. well simple, i hope the movie isn't.
