To 3D Or Not To 3D: Buy The Right Megamind Ticket

CB: Next summer, movie going audiences will be hit with three superhero movies in 3D: Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America: The First Avenger. Though the films will be going through the dreaded post-conversion process, they will be a test if a) more time can truly improve the non-3D 3D movies and b) if superheroes are just as cool in the third dimension. Here to help with letter b is Dreamworks’ Megamind.

I always go 3D when the Movie is worth watching, For instance 'How To Train Your Dragon', 'Avatar'.

darklordzor4917d ago

I can't do it. I just don't like 3D enough to watch it....especially if it's a movie worth watching. I'd rather watch it all without 3D, than possibly get bad 3D that just takes away from the experience of a good movie.

That doesn't mean there aren't exceptions, but on the whole, I'd rather pass.

I think 3D really adds to action films like super hero flicks.

Dont go 3D with this one, barely anything happens. It was another "forced" 3D attempt, as it wasn't built for 3D at all. So its not worth it unless your a fan of the film and want to give them extra money.

blur994918d ago

Really.
I thought it was made 3D ready.

Soldierone4917d ago

No it was forced in midway through production, it wasn't really on their minds at all. Same thing with Toy Story 3, it adds some effect but nothing too much.

3D will never be accepted because Hollywood doesn't treat it correctly. 3D needs to be built from the ground up, not just "hey its in 3D check it out."

darklordzor4917d ago

Toy Story 3 was always planned as 3D. Besides, when you're talking about CG movies, 3D isn't really forced. It's far easier to integrate it into the animation and takes far less time to do so.

I agree with you, i won't be going 3D with this one.
