On Screen Review: Machete

This review features an interview with Danny Trejo!

Based on the fake trailer that was released as part of the extensive "Grindhouse" marketting campaign back in 2007, "Machete" sees acclaimed cult hero Danny Trejo bring to life his ultimate character.

Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo) is an ex Federali living in the USA after the tragic murder of his family by Mexican drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Texas is a hot zone for illegal immigrants who are hunted like dogs by merciless border patrolman who form part of state Senator John McLaughlin's (Robert De Niro) campaign against "alien invasion".

When Machete is hired to kill the senator he finds himself at the mercy of a sadistic plan to re-elect the senator and commence with a plan to eliminate every last Mexican living in the USA.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez, the film explodes onto screens offering audiences a blood fueled, adrenaline charged massacre of the senses.
