Damn Cameron for making this Special Edition so awesome! I was really intent on not buying this one, because I hate these multiple releases and already have it on Blu-ray. But after reading all of the special features on it, I'm hard pressed to not get it. The Documentaries alone would be fun to watch on how it was all made...and let's face it, I'm a sucker for extra footage, and this has 16 minutes of it.
The only thing that gives me pause, is there's no mention of 3D. I know James Cameron mentioned before about putting out a Blu-Ray 3D edition so people could enjoy it as it was meant to be seen, but nothing on the features mentions it. So does this mean we'll have to wait for yet another edition?
I agree, I try to avoid multiple purchases of the same film, but you gotta love the bonus material. I remember reading an article a while back that Cameron plans on releasing the 3D version sometime next year..he's really milking this one.
I'll tell you what, I wouldn't be surprised if the only asset to the re-re-release is the 3d option, but I hope I'm wrong.
Great movie, but not the best. However, I do applaud James Cameron for his feat. In the end the story was quite bland...but most people don't really care about stories anymore....people like instant gratification, and here it was found in the visual effects.
