Yep, she did that one to herself. She got too high and mighty and thought that she was irreplaceable. She thought even after all of her comments that Bay wouldn't cut her...but he did. Besides her I don't think anyone else has left either. But to her I say good riddance and that the film will probably be better without her.

The fact that people were saying the second one was long and boring. Its at its climax right now, after the third one releases it will start slipping and probably lead to Shia leaving, Michal Bay passing on directing, and most likely a reboot.

Megan Fox wasn't over her head thinking highly with this franchise. 50 percent of people went to see explosions and big robot fights, the other 50 percent went to see Megan Fox be sexy. Few of us, like me, actually wanted to see the story develop and see Michal Bay do something with a point and climax. And I don't see how going from Megan Fox to another sub par model is a step up lol.

Dont get me wrong Im a Transformers fan. I'm known to be a Michal Bay/Transformers fan in all my film classes at college. People always ask me about the third one. I honestly feel its not going to be as epic as the first one, again, and it will begin its downhill struggle. If the studio plays the cards right, waits a few years to even talk about a 4th one, then ill say otherwise.

Being a film student I'm also kinda annoyed so many people admit to going to movies just because alot of stuff blows up....not like thats hard to do lol.

First off I'll say, it's not going to go downhill after this one. It's going to end most likely. Shia Lebouf says he's not making another one after this. Bay is gone after this. So most likely that will mean the end. Till of course they wait a few years to reboot the franchise altogether. No more sequels though I wouldn't think.

Secondly, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a "mindless action" movie from time to time. I'm of the same mind that I enjoy the Transformers just for that reason. I don't think anybody here is arguing that plot/storytelling has no impact. More so that it's just secondary in that as long as the story is put together moderately well and the plot is comprehensible, then the action is what carries the movie. You can't get too wrapped up in the art of cinema to the point that you forgot about the entertainment aspect (lest you get stuck with all those boring "art films" that nobody but the most dedicated of critics and film buffs want to see). At the end of the day, movies are entertainment. And sometimes people just want to forgo the necessity of thinking when watching a film. Not having to keep up with plot and all other details, but rather just want to be entertained by the pretty pictures. There's nothing wrong with that from time to time. I'm sure we all do it (even the most ardent of film students).

Yeah I didn't even know that lol, but you can see what I'm saying now. Bay himself didn't even see this far into the future. He just made Transformers, turned out it was bigger than expected, and he went ahead and did two more.

Hopefully, and like I said if the cards are played right, they leave it for a few years then bring Bay back in as the director or producer and at least Shia returns so it can be continued. If not, expect it to be a reboot.

I'm a Megan Fox fan, but thats not why my hopes are dim with this one. Bay has never proven himself to be a storyteller, and he lost that credit he got with the first one by making the second Transformers. The third one is going to be even more "action packed" but if you do that without a point and a story it gets boring. So he is going to yet again try to develop a story, which I'm hoping isn't long and unnattractive like the second one.

Transformers is about the kid being a kid, living a kids life, trying to be normal but has big robots all around him. The second ones focus was supposed to be the love between the two characters, but some how it never works. Yet it turned into a story about the Transformers, which is wrong, thats not what we want.

Also I know someone that worked with Shia Lebouf on that one movie where he destroys the machine at the end lol, forgot the name. However even Shia was telling people behind the scenes "this is going to suck, im not happy with it" yet in interviews and what not he is saying "its one of the best movies out there." Just saying "Transformers 3 will be the best of the 3" is an easy selling point for them.

I'm going a little off topic here but speaking of Shia Lebouf: I do NOT like where Spielberg has been taking him. Shia used to be good (and I still enjoy him), but he's started going downhill. Or should I say his career has started going downhill. And I'm speaking artistically here, not commercial success-wise (because lord know Spielberg has given him that at least). But looking back, I enjoyed him in Holes. In I, Robot he was good and provided some nice comedic relief. In Constantine he did a real good job again (again providing some good comedic relief here and there as well). In 'The Greatest Game Ever Played' and 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' he did some excellent work. All of those are good films too. Even in Disturbia he turned in a solid performance and it was a decent movie (though it still can't compare to Rear Window for me).

But then Spielberg really got his hooks into Shia. From there, I don't know what he's been trying to do. It's cool and all that he took a young up-and-comer under his wing and tried to propel his career (which commercially he did do that). But I don't know, it's like he's trying to turn him into the new Harrison Ford? Which granted Spielberg did great by Ford's career. But Shia is NOT Ford, and he shouldn't be molded into such. I just don't care for the direction Shia's gone since Speilberg got ahold of him. There was so much more potential there that just isn't be realized now.
