Zack Snyder leaps into the realm of 3D animation with his adaptation of "Legend of The Guardians".
The film tells the story of Soren (Jim Sturgess), a young owl with dreams of joining the mythical Guardians of Ga'Hoole. When he and his brother Kludd (Ryan Kwanten) are kidnapped by the Pure Ones, and enslaved, they discover the dark sinister realm of Metal Beak (Joel Edgerton) and his mate Nyra (Helen Mirren).
Kludd is charmed into joining forces with the Pure Ones, whilst his brother Soren manages to escape and goes on a journey to seek out the island of Ga'Hoole. There he finds the legendary Guardians who take it upon themselves to rescue the other owlets who have been enslaved.
The film is a milestone in 3D animation, offering breathtaking visuals that will dazzle and amaze. Adapted from the children's novels by Kathryn Laskie, the film combines the stories of the first 3 books in the series, and marks the first in what could easily become a wealthy franchise.
Final Destination is a reminder of our mortality.
‘It Follows’ still lurks.
The Parenting Review: It starts off as a fun horror-comedy with a great cast, but loses its charm halfway through. The laughs fade, the scares feel predictable, and by the end, it’s just another forgettable haunted house story.
