BOM: With first rate performances from an A-list cast, the handsome period piece The King's Speech is one of the most accessibly entertaining films of its kind in years. Colin Firth plays England's King George VI (father of the current Queen Elizabeth) who must overcome an embarrassing stutter in order to lead his country through the trying times of World War II. Geoffrey Rush is the Australian speech therapist that gives George strength and training; as a result a lifelong friendship develops between the two.

New Releases for the month of December are a little light; there isn't a high profile film that is going to attract a lot attention, but there is a lovely family film and three films that could interest a lot of adults. On the catalog title front things are little more interesting; if you love 'bad' 80s action, horror, talkative or 'actiony' dramas, or one of TV's most shockingly funny shows there might be a lot things to watch while you try to ignore your family during the holidays. If there are a lot of kids in your household the first waive of Disney animated films to be added to Netflix may keep them busy while you try to get a few minutes of peace.
Wow, we're already a month into 2012. Can you believe it? Hell, it seems like yesterday when we were looking forward to the New Year. Now, we're already 1/12 of the way done with it! Despite how fast it feels at the current moment, years are actually pretty damn long. Because of this, it's pretty easy to forgot about mediocre films. A year after the fact, I always gawk in amazement that certain films came out the year previously. It seemed like such a long time ago, yet it's only been twelve months. Above is fifteen of these films, the unsung losers of 2011. They may not be bad...but they are certainly forgetable.
Well, I didn't forget about The Green Hornet because believe it or not it was one of my favorite movies of 2011. I loved that movie. I thought it was one of the best because it just had it's own individual entertainment value.
They were funny, there was good action, there was also sencerity and lots of fun in just relaxing and watching them just have fun at what they were doing. It just reminded me of the old show on tv that I had just watched a few weeks before that seemed so serious but looked a little dumb being serious.
I liked it so much that I would even like to see a sequel even though I know it's never going to happen.
