DVD Talk Review: Don't Look Up

DVD Talk:

Maybe his creative juices were running dry. Maybe he thought an updated Hideo Nakata film didn't need much of a personal imprint to be successful. No matter the reason, Don't Look Up represents a real misstep for Fruit Chan. For his American debut, he has given us a clichéd story with a miscast lead performance. Some late-in-the-game gore sequences feel like course correction by Chan but they prove to be too little and just seem out of place. If you want to watch Chan do horror right, just watch Dumplings again. Skip It.
