Been hearing some pretty bad things. Looks like it will be a Netflix rental.

no no no. its a realy good movie. people didnt like it becuz they never watch the cartoon series

amsdesignphoto5033d ago (Edited 5033d ago )

I saw the movie (haven't seen the cartoon) and liked it along with the possibilities. I wish there was better acting yes.. that would have helped A LOT. There should've been more 3D because it was definitely a movie for it.

Plus, I'm sure a lot of cultural ties are in it (just not sure exactly but it looked familiar). I feel people who don't understand or know differing cultures and see it in film..tend to be swayed away from it. Like when I try to watch foreign films - it's hard for me to watch them since I don't know the ins-and-outs of their cultures. Some I have a better grasp then others.

The Last Airbender needed tweaks which I hope are addressed in the second film.

Ouch. I'll bet there are many disappointed to hear this. It had such hype that there was no way it could keep up.

Yeah I was really hoping this would do better critically. At the least I expected the action to stay consistent and not up and down. Yep this is going to have to be a Redbox or Netflix now.

Shamalamadingdong is all wrong for this type of movie. M. Night's skills fare better with things that are unseen... the unknown thing that is hiding on the other side of the door. The mind creates far worse things than what can actually be manifested by anything on screen. Night hasn't done anything to this effect since SIGNS and AIRBENDER is all about what is in front of your face, literally with the 3D. It just doesn't work at all.

darklordzor5035d ago

You are absolutely right. When he started making a different kind of film is when he started losing his footing. Signs is still one of my favorite films, and it's the reason why I still follow him. I was so shocked when he agreed to do an adaptation, just because it didn't seem his style.
