In Three Parts: The Matrix Trilogy

The Matrix trilogy is a controversial set of film, controversial in two different ways. The media latched on the original film, The Matrix (1999), as a bad influence on the youth of America and the film was even singled out in the wake of the Columbine massacre. The film series is also controversial with the fans. The first film is almost universally respected for it interesting story, ground breaking special effects, and the introduction of bullet time. The next two movies represent a split in the Matrix fandom. I will run down each of the three films in the trilogy and address the controversy.
