Review Express:
In addition to a great story and performances – including those by the other boys who were full time wushu students but had never acted – the film is enjoyable to watch. Shot in China, the scenes at the Great Wall of China and inside the Tiananmen Gate and the Forbidden City – the first time in 20 years – made the story even more believable.
While not expecting much when I went to see The Karate Kid, I’m pleased to say it’s the best film I’ve seen this year.
