Jake Gyllenhaal Goes Parkour In The First Prince Of Persia Clip

In the first ever, complete scene released from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Jake Gyllenhaal gives a full on Parkour demonstration in a chase scene that sends him racing through the city pursued by predictably inept guards. It’s a lot like some of the early chase scenes in Disney’s Aladdin, except without a monkey and of course, live-action instead of animated.

Parkour got it from Prince of Persia. :P

ShinFuYux5304d ago

There was no fluidity in his movements, the way he moves his feet and legs in the air show that he's obviously being held by wires, the way he lands is completely wrong.

This isn't parkour, this is just a guy jumping like an idiot.

If they actually got someone who knew parkour...David Belle has darker features.

I still find myself on the fence over this film. Most game to film adaptations don't really bother me too much, because it's all about seeing the characters and story that you've come to love on screen. And I've never been a big PoP fan to begin with, but when I think of the game, all that springs to mind is the manipulation of time aspect, and I can't help feeling that that's only going to be a brief aspect of the film. They could have done just as well without the license, I'd imagine. And I still have trouble envisioning Gyllenhaal as an action star, but then again, McGuire anyone?

It's a movie with parkour and lots of action, so I'll likely be there, but not because of anything to do with the game.
