NBC wants to be in the J.J. Abrams business. The network has picked up Undercovers, a new Abrams-produced series, making it the first new scripted series pickup for the fall.
NBC has ordered 13 episodes of the show, which comes from Warner Bros. Undercovers marks Abrams' return to the spy genre, after Alias (not to mention directing Mission: Impossible III). The series focuses on a married couple, played by Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who work as spies together.
