Warner Bros. may end up casting a woman of color as the DCEU's Batgirl, following Jeffrey Wright's appointment as Jim Gordon in The Batman.
Of course they would do that: she' a redhead. Black is the new orange, apparently.
Couldn't care less.
I would think it would be obvious. Jeffrey Wright was announced to be playing commissioner Gordon. She is his daughter. Makes sense. Just cast someone talented who looks like she can throw a punch without breaking a hand and we’re good.
In the new continuity she's adopted
The new Jim Gordon is black, so it would make sense for his daughter to be black too
"A man/woman of color" what a shitty way to describe a person.
The thing is why did they change Catwoman if they were going to do this anyway?
They talk about diversity but it literally comes down to Black and White, as soon as they talk about diversity you know you're going to see a black actor over anyone else. Asian, Middle Eastern, Latino just don't exist apparently and to me that's not being diverse.
There's plenty of characters from different backgrounds, use them regardless if they are well known or not.
Why? Woke social justice virtue signal BS.
Are we going to recast Black Panther as a red headed irishman?
