To me, Avatar always felt like a mixture of Harry Harrison's Deathworld and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. You can't deny its advanced technological side, though.

It was admittedly just a reworked story from several other movies. But damn that 3D was and still is the best 3D I’ve ever seen. It looked like looking through a giant window instead of just looking like a normal 3D movie.
The movie itself was good. Original? No. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t entertaining as hell.
