Nobody can replace Williams as genie.

Hroach6161809d ago

I agree. The original really only worked as well as it did and gained the popularity that it did because of his performance. I’ve been saying it since this was announced. You can’t replace Williams. His performance was/is legendary.
Many Disney movies can be remade as Disney has been doing just fine. But not when the entire original movie succeeded because of one persons performance.

blacktiger1809d ago

Succeeded because one person, that's true, but also you can replace it just you better be lucky to be alive till then nothing now

The_Blue1809d ago

You mean they remade a 2d version/

Deadpoolio1809d ago

Good thing thats wasn't what they were trying to do, but then again Im betting you didn't see it so your knowledge doesn't go further than a 2 minute trailer still....They were going more for turning the broadway show into a film and the broadway actor isn't trying to be Robin Williams either, but that would require actually having seen it to notice...

I liked it. Not amazing but it's fun to watch. Thought Will Smith did a good job as genie too. the song speechless was alright but it didn't fit the movie at all. Was not a fan of how they did One jump ahead but the other songs were good.

PhantomS421809d ago

Yeah, I really liked the movie but it felt very heavy. Smith was fine and I actually liked how they gave genie more of a story other than goofy genie that grants wishes. Guy Richie's terrible action scene made their way into the third act too which wasn't fun to watch, seriously fuck that dude. At least he can finally say he has made one good movie in his lifetime.

Dark_Knightmare21809d ago

One good movie lol get real. He has lock, stock and two smoking barrels, snatch and both Sherlock movies

PhantomS421809d ago

@Dark_Knightmare If you think those were even remotely good then you clearly have no idea what a good movie is. I'm sure you think King Arthur was a cinematic masterpiece lmao, get out of here kid.

49erguy1809d ago (Edited 1809d ago )

@ PhantomS42 I also thought those movies were good. As do a lot of people lol

RizBiz1809d ago (Edited 1809d ago )

What the f*ck are you on about? Snatch has an audience score of 93%. That's phenomenal.

Disney doesn't care unfortunately; they'll get their money.

zodiac9091809d ago

A. The genie looks creepy af.
B. What the hell was the matter with the original?

The_Blue1809d ago

A. Not for you.
B. Go watch the original

kamisama1809d ago

Why are you so defensive people are stating there opinions and you're getting upset over it lol.

The_Blue1809d ago

People are complaining like Disney make movies for smiles and high fives.

Averyashimself1808d ago

They make movies for money, if people get sick of their garbage, they'll no longer make money. Easy
