A solid first foray into the sci-fi genre, Netflix’s gamble has paid off handsomely with Altered Carbon, although it could have been developed further into something more, something even better.
The rebooted DC Universe kicks off with Creature Commandos on HBO/Max. Written by James Gunn, the series has many of the elements that made his Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad movies successful – an interesting team of misfits, strong comedy, stylish action, and a surprising amount of heart. However, Gunn also included many references and influences from nearly every decade of comic book history.
