'Iraqi Sniper' — being produced by two-time Oscar-nominee Hany Abu-Assad — will be an anti-war response to Clint Eastwood’s 2014 hit, telling the story behind the chief foe of Bradley Cooper's character.
interesting to see the other side of the story play out but at the same time this guy's an idiot for not respecting the "american" side. Both snipers are the heroes to their own people, this producer not realizing that while publicly bashing American Sniper is dooming his own movie to failure.
"But I'm trying to make an antiwar film,"
"This story merits to be told even if American Sniper hadn't come out,"
Doesn't sound like he's disrespecting the American side. He just hated the movie, many people did.
Yeah, if only the American representation of that so called "hero" were accurate to begin with. The man was a bigot in real life. He did kill women and children with no remorse, and viewed all Muslims and Arabs as sub human "savages" and thought it was fun to do so.
Great to have someone with enough balls to tell the other side of the story for once. I'll be watching with interest.
