Yikes, I can't believe how much I disliked Allegiant. I'm not ashamed to admit I generally enjoy movies geared toward the young adult demographic. But as much as it may try, the DIVERGENT series will never escape the shadow of The Hunger Games. Allegiant, the third film in the series, is so bad I couldn't wait for it to be over. Problems with the film were to be expected ever since the studio announced the last book would be split into two movies. The third book was already the weakest in the franchise, so the fact that it would then be drawn out over two films was an immediate red flag. So, it was no surprise that I was bored and annoyed throughout the entire movie.
With The Batman Part II delayed to 2027, maybe it’s time for Burton and Keaton to give us a Batman Beyond movie!
